Beneath Beauty

Today I saw a girl
She walked fiercely,
No, she ain't that it girl
You've seen on the TV
She's just a small-town girl,
Wear the most beautiful dress
A girl can wear everyday
A smile, they said.

No, she ain't that fashionable
Dress like what you'll see on vogue
No, she doesn't hangout in the hip cafes
Drink an expensive cup of coffee,
for just a status as a hippie
And...no, she doesn't attend a concert
costs huge amount of money,
of her parent's monthly allowance

She's just a girl with dreams,
who also has a lot of plans,
Yet the thinking is always too much
For her to believe
That she's more than a beauty

Today, the girl I saw today saw another girl,
who has a beautiful face, with beautiful eyes,
has a skinny and perfect body,
dresses like what you'll see on vogue,
hands a glass of expensive coffee,
and talks about an expensive concert she'll attend
that will always attract people
to know her closer

The girl I saw mourned
She questioned life,
Why nobody bats even an eye for her
While she's already wear the best dress
like what people said,
A smile.

So is it true that smile is still the best dress a woman could wear, she asked,
So is it true that the beauty is still inside, she questioned...
And is it true that all she has to do is believe that she is still beautiful, she contemplated,

As she left the road to the the less traveled path.
